Instructional Method

I believe in the ideas of progressive teaching and that hands on problem/project based learning along with co-operative learning are good ways to create an active and enjoyable learning environment. Co-operative based learning is a very good way of acclimating students to the society that they will inevitably be a part of. Students also benefit from having an active and open involvement in class. As a teacher I must act more as a facilitator and assist in teaching a common objective while helping with plans to meet that objective.  I also wish for students to have a feeling of social responsibility and an idea of democracy from how my classroom is run.  I wish to cater to the student’s interests and allow them to alter the curriculum based on these interests. I hope to expose students to a wide variety of information and activities so that they may grow.
